Button ...football?

Believe it or not, this is a thing, and even a sport, officially. Button football is here to stay.

I was invited to a tournament in Barcelona some time back. The players were assigned 'nationalities', and they played against each other. Sadly, only very few female participants took part. The game consists in getting a 'ball' (a small white button) into the goal and score as many goals as possible. But instead of kicking it, the players use other buttons to prompt the 'ball' over a smooth fabric surface.

What I find most fascinating is the type of button that is used in the games, I learnt that casein buttons make the best players, the large and thick ones being preferred. The players would have a whole team of buttons, ideally in a matching colour, with a logo sticker on the top, or rather the reverse, since the buttons are facing down during the game.

Each game lasts for 20 minutes, so the tournament can be over in one day. If you want to see the full relation from the tournament, check this video.
